Trailer Tag: Meet The Spartans

Ever since I saw the movie "300", which by the way you should all see if you have not yet, I have been poking fun at it. Well it looks like they are making a movie that parodies the film and I couldn't be happier. This film is from Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg (The guys who brought you "Scary Movie" and "Date Movie") I am not a fan of those movies. This one will probably be just like thoughs but I'll probably see it in theatres still. Just the fact of a movie parodying "300" just gets me excited. I, for one, make up at least one joke relating to "300" a day. There is also another spoof of a "300", yes, from National Lampoon called National Lampoon's 301: The Story Of Awsomest Maximus Wallace Leonidas" but for now her is the "Meet The Spartans" Trailer.

Universal Dumps Barbarella

Apperently Robert Rodriguez reported that he was interested in making a re-make of the science fiction classic Barbarella. The story is based on a french comic about a female astronaut who travels the galaxy conquering everything seductivly. Well Universal has apperantly decided to turn it down. "SciFi.com" has the story.

Scifi.com-

"Universal reportedly balked because Rodriguez (Sin City) insisted on casting his new fiancé, Rose McGowan, in the lead role originally played by Jane Fonda. Fonda starred in the 1968 original directed by her then-husband, Roger Vadim. McGowan starred in Rodriguez's Planet Terror, his half of last year's Grindhouse. The Observer based its report on anonymous sources."

Well, the new "Rambo" movie has not been getting a lot of buzz. I myself have never seen the "Rambo" films so it's hard for me to actually get excited for this film. Well a new poster has been released showing us that the title will not be "John Rambo" or "Rambo To Hell And Back" but will be just known as "Rambo". The good thing is I think that this poster is figgin awsome. Check it out.

X-Files 2 Updates

I never got around to watching "The X-Files" TV series. I did see the original movie and thought it was pretty good. Well "X-Files 2" is on the way and SciFi.com had this to say.

SciFi.com-

The X-Files star David Duchovny told SCI FI Wire that he had a reunion lunch with co-star Gillian Anderson and series creator Chris Carter in Los Angeles recently to discuss the long-gestating X-Files big-screen sequel film.

"That was nice," Duchovny said while promoting his latest film, Things We Lost in the Fire. "I see Chris quite a bit. We live kind of in the same neighborhood. We live within maybe 10 or 15 miles of one another, but I hadn't seen Gillian in a while. So it was like a reunion. It really was. It was more emotional than I would have thought it was [going to be]. If you spend that much time with people and go through that much, there's a lot of residual feeling."

The X-Files 2 is tentatively set to go before the camera in December, with Carter directing, based on a script he wrote with veteran X-Files writer-producer Frank Spotnitz. Duchovny will reprise his role as FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder, and Anderson will return as Special Agent Dana Scully.

The plot remains a secret, but Duchovny expressed his hope that the second feature will recapture the essence of the series, which ran for nine seasons, from 1993 to 2002. It also spawned a spinoff TV show (The Lone Gunmen) and the first movie, The X-Files, which premiered in 1998.

"I want us to go out and do what the show always did best, which is really smart, scary, ultimately ambiguous stuff," Duchovny said. "I think there's been a lot of shows and movies that kind of tread the same area, or tried to, and I think we always did it best. And I hope we can go out and do it best again."

Sounds like they are really trying to make this the best "X-Files" movie there could possibly be. Lets hope so.

They say the grudge never dies..So here is "The Grudge 3"

I use to love horror movies but they have seem to lost all their flavor recently. I am especially tired of all these movies featuring gray children making hip and wierd movements. So I am not a huge fan of "The Grudge" series. I have only seen the first one and have yet to see the second one. Well according to "Moviehole" they are making a third installment to the horror franchise. The script is already ready. Well, I guess the fad from the 70s and 80s of endless horror sequels are back. For those who don't know the "Grudge" is based on an japenese horror movie by Takashi Shimizu is about a vengful spirit who persues anyone who dares enter the house it lives in.

Nefertiti Is A Go

As some people know Marc Forester, Who directed the terrific "Finding Neverland". has been trying to do the project Nefertiti the story of one of Egypts most powerful pharoes with Halle Berry for a while now. Halle Berry recently spoke to the "MTV" and on the "MTV Movie Blog" they reported that the Forrester's dream project has been in development hell and is finally moving. Halle Berry told "MTV" about her plans for the film. Berry believes that the film will have an epic feel to it because there is a lot of action due to this is the time when Nefertiti was ruling an empire. This sounds like a terrific film. I am a huge fan of Marc Forresters work and just am excited about this. Currently, Forrester is working on the newest "Bond" picture.

Dune Adaption Gets A Director

After the disappointing film and mini-series it looks like they plan on doing a new adaption of the classic science fiction novel. The story by the brilliant Frank Herbert is about the political struggles between 3 noble houses. The Imperial house Corrino, House Atreides, and house Harkonnen 20,000 years into the future. Well according to website "Moviehole" Paramount is most likley to give the new film a home and they have also found the right guy to direct the film. Director Peter Berg, Who directed the film "Smokin Aces", is looking like he will direct the project. Not a lot of news is out yet but it sounds like this could be "the" "Dune" Movie.

Lindsay Lohan....As A Playboy Bunny

As some of us know, Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men 3:The Last Stand) is planning to direct a "Playboy" movie about the biography of Hugh Hefner. Brett Ratner recently spoke to "E!" whom he said he would love to put Lindsay Lohan in the movie and that she would be a great Playboy Bunny. What do I think of this. I agree she would be a great Playboy Bunny. She has all the assets a good bunny needs and plus they are going to need some famous faces to don the bunny suits. Another possible casting rumor is Leonardo DiCapro as Hugh Hefner. Interesting.

Well the long rumoured Chris Pine (Just Mu Luck), Who was suppose to star in the film "White Jazz", has dropped out of "White Jazz" and is now all ready to command "The Enterprise as Captain Kirk". I am so freakin excited for this "Star Trek" film. The cast is phenominal and the story is getting all my geek vibes in motion. I simply just can't for 2008. Land Of The Lost Returns

Not many people remember the "Land Of The Lost". The original series was made in 1974 and then a re-make of that series was made in 1991. The story revolved around a family that was stuck on an island with dinosaurs and cavemen and other vizarre creatures. I am one of very few whom I know who know about the series. I never did see the original series. But, I did see the re-make and remember kind of enjoying it. Well, according to "Screenrant" Universal Studios plans to make this into a feature leangth comedy film based off the series. The film is reported to have a HUGE 100 million dollar budget and will have Will Ferrell in the film. Well, all I can say is that it is a good chance for people of our generation to experence "Land Of The Lost".

Rambo To Hell And Back

Not a lot of buzz is coming up with this new "Rambo" movie but we were positive that the title was going to be (much like "Rocky" with "Rocky Balboa") was going to simply be titled "John Rambo". Well according to "I Watch Stuff" says that "Liongate" was worried people would see the simularities between "Rocky Balboa" and "John Rambo" titles being the characters name. So, "Liongate" is changing the title to "Rambo To Hell And Back". I personally would have preferred "John Rambo" it simply does not matter between the simularities. They both relaunched so they can have the same kinda title.

JLH: Justice League High

The Justice League Of America film (JLA) is movieng faster than any other project I have seen in my life. Personally, I wish they would take there time. Well, according to "The Hollywood Reporter" The studio is apperantly casting a more young cast than say Christian Bale or Brandon Routh but in fact given test screenings to people like Adam Brody (O.C.) Michael Angarano (Sky High) to name a few. I don;t mind a young cast it's just this is not "Teen Titans" this is in fact the "JLA" these are supermen not superboys. But We'll just have to see what the final product is. Personally, I preffered it being an animated film. It works on a better level. But, this could still be good.

Politics With Clooney And Dicaprio

George Clooney, in my opinion, is one of the most talented actors alive right now. Seriously, everything I see him in he is terrific. And Leonardo Dicaprio is a very talented actor. To this day I yhink he should have got an Oscar Nod for his role in "Titanic". Anyways, according to "Yahoo News" it seems that Clooney will be using his equally talented directing skills and teaming up with Dicaprio to star in a film called "Farragut North". The interesting thing about this film is that it is based on a play that has not even been made yet. This Movie/Play is all about a young communications director who is working for a candidate in a presidential campaign. While working in the campaign the young man falls in with politicos who are all about backstabbing and dirty tricks.

A new drama called "Empire" is getting ready to start production and will be directed by the magnificant Michael Mann (Miami Vice and Ali) is going to direct it. According to "Movieweb" The newest casting news is that actor Will Smith (Men In Black) is signing on for a role for the film. We are not even sure who Smith will be playing. Heck, we barley know anything about the actual plot. All we have so far is that it is about some extremely wealthy media mogul plans to take over the world. I am very excited about this project. Mann and Smith together is just saying "A Good Time".

Terminator Salvation

Well I am a huge fan of the "Terminator" films especially the second.Which still stands as one of the great action movies of our time. Well, according to "Scifi" it looks like "Warner Brothers" is preparing a whole new trilogy which will take place during the post apocolyptic state between "Skynet" and the remaining humans.
